Kevin Hart challenges A-listers to help Harvey victims

In response, Kevin Hart is trying to rally his rich celebrity friends to donate money toward assisting the victims and rescuers.

"I challenge The Rock, Steve Harvey, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, JAY-Z, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and Jerry Seinfeld", he said, "and I think when you do it you all should tag somebody else".

Hurricane Harvey continues to devastate Texas, with torrential rain and catastrophic flooding predicted to last several more days. "I think we've participated in a lot of challenges on the internet, some meaningful, come meaningless, but we've all done them", Hart said.

It's up to you whether to go with a local charity that might know the area better, or a national charity that has wider reach.

In an effort to help, comedian and actor Kevin Hart took to Instagram on Sunday, challenging the biggest names in Hollywood to step up and donate to the ongoing relief efforts.

Country music star Chris Young also got in on the action, donating a whopping $100,000 to a GoFundMe page that also benefits The Red Cross.

Others have stepped up as well, like Houston Texans star JJ Watt, who posted a link to for donations to help. I'm donating $100,000 to relief efforts and hope you will join me.

Texas has been hit hard by Hurricane Harvey.

Dozens of other celebrities have tweeted their thoughts and prayers to Houston and other parts of Texas.

Watt started a fundraiser Sunday to help the people of Houston.
