The Frenchman had a solid season on loan at Valencia and is looking for a permanent move somewhere else, and the best option seems to be Inter Milan.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Inter are reportedly interested in Eliaquim Mangala to bolster their defensive unit.

Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala is closing on a loan move to Inter Milan.

Inter would certainly represent a decent alternative to gain first-team minutes on a consistent basis.

However, the powerful stopper has struggled for playing time with the Citizens since, with his underwhelming performances during the 2015/16 campaign having led to City eventually sending him out on loan to Valencia last summer.

The Serie A side have Mangala as their prefered target, but are yet to agree terms with either him or City. The Belgium global also belongs to City, but has spent the last three years on loan at Celtic, Galatasaray and Sunderland, respectively.

In August 2014, City paid £32m to sign Mangala from Porto but despite making 64 appearances in all competitions, the centre-back is deemed surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium.
