By then Murdoch tweeted again with the update "we're getting him in a vehicle to Bismarck, a flight to Minneapolis". And we stopped for water, and I was coming out of the Walmart, and [Colburn] was coming into the Walmart, and he was waving very happily, in a good mood. We last saw the group two summers ago when it headlined Rock the Garden outside Walker Art Center. "He had a credit card", Murdoch stated.

In an interview with music website The Current, Murdoch explained that Colburn, who was left at the rest stop without his phone or identification, took refuge in a Walmart store for four hours before he eventually managed to check into a hotel for the night. Nobody was awake to notice Colburn was missing, and they pulled out of the vehicle park without him, leaving the drummer stranded with only a credit card. Everything worked out, though, as hours later, Murdoch tweeted that Colburn was on a plane "in his pyjamas, sitting with a mimosa".

"The thing is, he was probably thinking that somebody was going to notice, but the trouble is everybody went to bed", Murdoch said.

Murdoch told the Current fans tweeted back offering to collect Colburn and possibly drive him to St. Paul, Minnesota in time for their gig. "The gig hangs in the balance".

As fans debated whether or not he was joking, a subsequent tweet from Murdoch provided an update that thankfully confirmed that somebody in North Dakota took him seriously: "We're getting him in a auto to Bismarck, a flight to Minneapolis", Murdoch said. The next day, thanks to some help from friends, Colburn was on his way. Murdoch added that, in the past, they had a system that ensured everyone was back on the bus before it left, but that they had abandoned it after mobile phones became common. And it's like herding cats. "So it's maybe not surprising that something like this happened". Along with a photo, Murdoch tweeted, "A new sign appeared on our bus".
