My wife is with my sister and mom having a girls' weekend. It was really fun for them previous year.

They had plenty to celebrate together.

Kumin, a part-owner, won with Beach Patrol in the marquee Arlington Million and with Dacita in the previous race, the Beverly D. Stakes.

"We came and obviously had an unbelievable day", Kumin said. "Super fortunate. Really a great day".

Beach Patrol hadn't won since last year's Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes at Arlington Park. "He fights hard, hasn't been lucky. We were thrilled to get him back to a track he loves".

Ridden by Joel Rosario, Beach Patrol ran 1¼ miles on a firm turf course in 2:02.39 on Saturday at Arlington Park in suburban Chicago.

Fanciful Angel, a 73-1 shot, finished second.

Two races later, Postulation, the victor oif Delaware Park's Cape Henlopen Handicap in his last outing, stalked the pace through most of the odd-ball distance of 1-11/16 miles before getting to the lead 5/16 of a mile out.

Two Illinois-bred horses raced in the Million. The Pizza Man, the 8-year-old 2015 victor, finished last.

In the $600,000 Beverly, Dacita won the 1 3/16-mile race in 1:55.49 ahead of Dona Bruja and Grand Jete.

For all his accomplishments in the last decade Chad Brown has been training, he added another feat August 12, when he became the first trainer to capture both the Arlington Million XXXV Stakes (G1T) and Beverly D. Stakes (G1T) on the same day at Arlington International Racecourse. That was fast enough for a 2-1/4-length win over Ireland's Taj Mahal with France's Afandem third.
