Netflix acquires 'Baahubali' for a mind blowing price

For those who missed the Baahubali series in theatres, here's a great opportunity to watch the film legally.

According to reports, Netflix has acquired rights to stream Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The conclusion and signed a deal with its makers. Netflix is slowly making its presence felt in India and this deal is viewed as a game changer for the company in terms of viewership.

Baahubali is ready to be available in unexplored market of 192 counties with the Netflix deal. "It is looking to acquire both licensed content and make originals but won't lap up everything". Baahubali's high demand forced Netflix to buy movie's streaming rights at a whopping amount.

Writing for Livemint, Vidhi Choudhary quoted Jessica Lee, vice-president (communications), Netflix, as saying, "On the content front, we are doubling down on Indian investment to curate a compelling content library encompassing original and licensed titles". Baahubali 2: The Conclusion takes the story forward from where the first part ended.

Baahubali producers are quite happy with the deal and said that the collaboration with Netflix will facilitate the film reach audience in all 192 countries effortlessly.

Director SS Rajamouli's Baahubali franchise continues to be the most profitable venture in the Indian film industry even after smashing all the previous box office records worldwide and creating new records.

The film had a big star cast that included Prabhas in the title role with Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Sathyaraj, Nasser, Ramya Krishnan and others.
