Lenovo Phab2 series won't get Android 7.0 Nougat

Now as per a report of Android Police, company's official software upgrade page has revealed that there will be no Nougat 7.0 update for the Lenovo's entire Phab series of smartphones. Both the tablets were launched past year.

You are not alone, none of the Phab devices are getting the update. So it is nearly confirmed that the nougat update won't be available for the Lenovo Phab devices.

Further, the list of Lenovo phones that already run on the Android Nougat include Vibe K6 Note, K6, K6 Power, Vibe P2, Lenovo Zuk Z2 and the Z2 Plus. The update is over-the-air so will go be available gradually to all.

While this might come as a disappointing revelation for owners of the original Phab from 2015 (which launched with Android Lollipop), my heart is really going out to the poor souls who bought a Phab2 Pro - the "world's first Tango-enabled smartphone".

Looks like the Phab 2 Pro users are stuck with using the older software version. The phone is priced at Rs 29,999 and sells exclusively on Flipkart. Neither the Phab, Phab Plus, Phab2, Phab2 Plus, nor the Phab2 Pro will be updated to Android Nougat. Lenovo Phab 2 is the first and only device which is now made available using Google's Project Tango.

When it comes to the specs of the device, the Phab 2 Pro houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor under the hood, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Phab 2 Pro features a 6.4 inch Quad HD IPS display and is backed by a 4050mAh battery. There is also an 8 MP camera on the front.
