Fire breaks out at classic vehicle dealership in Staunton, Illinois

Olive, Litchfield, Shoal Creek (Sorento), New Douglas, Olive (Livingston), Alhambra, Marine, Worden, Hamel, Holiday Shores and Prairie (Prairietown), according to Staunton Fire District Chief Rick Haase.

Officials could not immediately say how the fire started, but owner Russ Noel estimates about 150 classic cars likely worth millions were damaged.

Chief Haase said all the water to fight the fire had to be tanked in because of the rural location of the business.

Twelve to 15 fire departments from three counties were called to the scene to assist. There were no reports of injuries.

A large storage building at Country Classic Cars in Staunton, Illinois, was destroyed by a fire Tuesday night. So far no cause for the fire has been determined.

Investigators are trying to find out what started a massive fire that tore through a landmark classic auto business in Staunton, Ill., KTVI reports.

The business has been in the Staunton area for years and is a staple in the area.
