President Donald Trump does appear enthusiastic about the future of nuclear power, but he hasn't been specific about what he plans for the industry.

US President Donald Trump has promised to "revive and expand" the US nuclear energy sector, but people have seen little action.

. "It is now far stronger and more powerful than ever before...."

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson rushed to soothe the wave of panic which arose, saying he does not believe there was "an imminent threat" in Trump's words, and that the exchange of threats between the president and the DPRK does not mean that Washington is preparing its military.

In those tweets, he incorrectly stated that reviewing the nuclear arsenal was at the top of his to-do list when he took office.

Former Obama foreign policy adviser Ben Rhodes on Wednesday called President Trump's claims to have already modernized the USA nuclear arsenal "alarming" amid rising tensions with North Korea. The Pentagon's review is still underway - it started in earnest in April, and is expected to be finished near the end of the year - and substantively, nothing has actually changed.
