The first trailer for Channel 4's Great British Bake Off has arrived

Production company Love Productions sold the rights to Great British Bake Off to Channel 4 in a shock move.

Singing Paul McCartney and The Frog Chorus's We All Stand Together, piles of flour, profiteroles and croissants perform while loaves are plaited and bread rises in the oven.

A trailer has been teased showing a lot of baking, with an animated choir of cakes and baked treats coming to life.

Though a start date has not been revealed by Channel 4 just yet, a card at the end of the trailer promises the show is coming "soon".

Fans of the programme were already sceptical about how the show will continue without beloved hosts Mel and Sue, and judge Mary Berry - who decided not to follow to show to Channel 4 - and the debut teaser seems to have done nothing to alleviate their fears.

Aside from the equally odd image of its new presenters - the mannequin-like shot of Paul Hollywood, Sandi Toksvig, Noel Fielding and Prue Leith holding an array of white and red cupcakes - this is the first viewers have seen of the new franchise since it was bought by Channel 4 in September 2016.
