The "Fetish" singer opened up about the 90-day rehab stint she did in order to treat her physical and mental health - a time period in her life that all Selenators have questions about. "I went away for 90 days, and it was the best thing that I ever could've done", she said. "I had no phone, nothing, and I was scared. But it was fantastic, and I learned a lot", she told InStyle.

"Everything I cared about, I stopped caring about", she continues. "I go to therapy". I believe in that and talking about where you are. "But I'm in a really, really healthy place".

The pinup also said she is still getting used to being 25.

When asked what it was like inside the treatment center, Gomez added she was "in the countryside and never did my hair; I took part in equine therapy, which is so handsome". "And it was hard, obviously", she added. But in her acceptance speech after she won Favorite Female Artist in the pop/rock category, she got emotional, saying that she'd let herself down by trying to keep everything inside.

"Tours are a really lonely place for me", she said. "Because I had everything, and I was absolutely broken inside".

"It's good to be connected, to see things, and to get a sense of what your friends are up to".

"I want to use my voice to be a part of things and to speak out, whether it's about health or happiness or charities", she said. Opening up about her feelings seems to be something she is all about recently, and hearing that even she isn't immune to feeling insecure can be incredibly helpful to her fans who need to know they're not alone. And the former Disney star added that social media can still be tricky as there are plenty of haters that try to get "negative" things out of her.

Also on Thursday InStyle released a short clip on Instagram of Gomez wearing a turquoise blue silk dress and no shoes as she is being carried in a green palm leave print chair by two hunky crew men for the photo shoot. I remember when I had my Disney show, I was just running around and not caring and making kids laugh. I was all over the place. "You can't help it", she says.

"I think it is really dysfunctional to be in this industry at a young age where you're figuring out who you are", she told InStyle of her early fame. Gomez really cared about other's opinions then.

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd went public with their romance on January 10 in Los Angeles after dining at the Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica.

Gomez admitted that there are still days when it's hard for her to cope. "I think for me I have experienced so many different phases in my life because I've been doing this for so long I don't think there is anything that I want to, not necessarily hide but I'm genuinely myself", she said during her "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" interview. "My livelihood can't depend on 'Am I liked?'"
