Mrs Baker-Lockett's husband Paul Lockett - the stepfather of James and Amy - was driving in a separate vehicle with the couple's 14-year-old son Jack, and reportedly watched the tragedy unfold in his rear view mirror.

Her young daughter was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.

The family were living in Milton Keynes, but the twins' paternal grandfather, John Gaskin, of Luton, told the MailOnline that he was still coming to terms with the loss of his family, the walls of his home adorned with photos of his smiling grandchildren.

Police say the other family members were not directly involved in the incident. The twins did everything together and were very close.

Less than 24 hours after this collision, a woman and her two twins died following a separate collision on the same stretch of road. They were a lovely family.

The mother was declared dead at the scene near Barnstaple, in North Devon, on Monday morning.

The crash between their white Kia Sportage and an oncoming lorry happened near Barnstaple at 08:25 BST on Monday.

Police have confirmed a nine-year-old girl has died following a collision on the North Devon Link Road on Sunday.

Three ambulances, five rapid response vehicles and an air ambulance rushed to the scene near Aller Cross at around 8.2am yesterday.

The cause of the crash is still being examined and police have appealed for witnesses.

A fundraising page has been set up to raise £5,000 for the family.

"Please share this and donate if you can because if anybody deserves help then this family does".
