L'Oreal brand ambassador Helen Mirren says moisturiser probably does f*** all

L'Oreal Paris ambassador Helen Mirren has admitted she doesn't know if moisturizer actually does anything for her skin.

Oscar victor Helen Mirren likes to wear moisturiser because it makes her feel good.

Helen is now the face of the beauty brand's Age Perfect moisturiser range, and stars in both TV and print adverts. All I can do is be who I am.

The 70-year-old actress has been announced as the new representative of the cosmetics brand, and the star is flattered she has been handpicked to front the brand because she has "always" loved the company, especially their slogan.

"I'm an eternal optimist - I know that when I put my moisturizer on it probably does f**k all, but it just makes me feel better".

Oscar-winning actress Dame Helen Mirren, who fronts an ad campaign for L'Oreal, said yesterday that moisturiser "probably does f-- all". And while it's fair to say many moisturisers do make a difference to the appearance of skin, beauty is about more than just results but the way a product makes you feel. She is the oldest of the brand's celebrity ambassadors and on her insistence, the advertisements she appears in are not digitally enhanced.

A L'Oreal spokesperson was not available for comment.

The face of L'Oreal's "Age Perfect" moisturiser range, she was signed as a brand spokeswoman in 2014 after their consumer research found she was perceived as "genuine, intelligent and glamorous, with looks that seem only to improve with the passing of time".

"It used to drive me insane that the ads promoting skin products were using pictures of 15 and 16-year-old girls", she vented. It was ridiculous. P**ses me off majorly. "And so this idea, not that you can not be lovely without make-up but that you are worth the time it take to feel good about yourself, was exciting". We'll have to keep our eyes peeled on our TV to see if her words did indeed effect the talent in the next campaign.
