Davis says the cause of death is not known and is under investigation by the National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner.

Officials say Beadle was hiking with two children to the campground.

Beadle was reportedly an experienced backpacker and hiker.

Davis says Beadle was the parent of one child and that the other was a niece or nephew.

Authorities were still searching Wednesday for a Texas doctor who was reported missing at the Grand Canyon while on trip to visit several of the country's national parks.

The Fort Worth resident had taken the South Kaibab Trail.

According to officials, crews located the body nearly a mile from Phantom Ranch near the Black Bridge.

Sarah Beadle, 38, made reservations to stay at the Bright Angel Campground on Tuesday, but didn't arrive, officials said.

She last hiked at the Grand Canyon in 2002.
