Netflix is expanding its animated sphere with a new series by animation master Matt Groening. Netflix ordered two 10-episode seasons of Disenchantment, which will debut in 2018.

"The Simpsons" is the longest-running animated series on USA television, having just concluded its 28th season this year during which it celebrated its 600th episode.

Netflix has announced that it has placed a twenty-episode order for Disenchantment, a new adult animated comedy fantasy series from The Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening. Animation is being done by Rough Draft Studios (Futurama). It's another big leap in range for Groening, who has explored everything from American suburbia to futurstic science-fiction with his animated shows. Disenchantment is an upcoming animated series which will tell the tale of Bean, an alcoholic princess in her medieval kingdom Dreamland.

Groening will executive produce the series alongside Josh Weinstein.

The main characters will be voiced by Abbi Jacobson of Broad City, Nat Faxon, and Eric Andre, with additional voices by John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Tress MacNeille, David Herman, Matt Berry, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding, and Lucy Montgomery.

Netflix has already seen success with its original animated series Bojack Horseman, which is scheduled to premiere its fourth season on September 8.
