"I think we were hopeful that it would work out that way and when we found out that we were pregnant it just made it that much more special", said Erin Hattinger, mother.

It is about nine months since the Cubs won the World Series on November 2 and Chicago-area hospitals are noticing a spike in births, according to the Chicago Tribune.

That's more than nine months ago, which means some celebrations are due.

Born July 17, 2017 the Hattingers of Barrington named their world series baby, Theo.

Advocate Illinois Masonic celebrated Wednesday the "World Championship Babies" complete with Clark the Cub, the World Series trophy and some newborn swag for the babies.

"Luck was on our side that night", Erin says.

Championships do seem to have a way of kickstarting a mini baby boom when a team wins it all.

"Anecdotally, hearing from parents, we know what we were doing back nine months ago", says Dr. Melissa Dennis.

When the Cubs won the World Series, some Cubs fans celebrated by making more Cubs fans.

Get ready for a lot of babies with names like Ivy, Addison, Clark, Wrigley and maybe a Schwarber?

The babies also got complimentary memberships in the team's "Newborn Fan Club", and numerous parents in the hospital were thrilled with the distinction of their child being born as part of the "World Series baby" wave.

"Everything the Cubs represent.and Theo is great role model.as a new dad.they're the types of people you want your son to look up to", Dave said.
