WestJet announces new Vancouver service to Mexico and more flights to Alberta

The service is part of the airline's seasonal schedule for the winter of 2017-18 which includes more flights from Calgary to Vancouver, Toronto, Fort McMurray, Kelowna, Brandon, Grande Prairie, Kitchener, Los Angeles, Houston, Phoenix, Palm Springs, Cancun and Cabo San Lucas.

This winter, more flights will also be added on routes from Vancouver to Alberta and northern B.C. -Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, and Fort St. John-and Mexico-Cabo San Lucas, Cancun, and Puerto Vallarta.

"WestJet provides more service at YYC than any other carrier and we are committed to continuing to expand our presence in the years to come", said WestJet president and CEO Gregg Saretzky.

"We are pleased to announce new service to Belize as well as an additional 52 flights per week this winter which will help drive growth at the airport and in the community".

- Calgary-Kelowna, from six to seven times.

Calgary-Brandon, from 10 to 12 times weekly.

Kelowna-Toronto, from five to seven times weekly.

Calgary-Los Angeles, from 11 to 14 times weekly.

Calgary-Phoenix, from 19 to 20 times weekly.

Toronto-Cancun, from 11 to 15 times weekly.

"This increased service will greatly enhance connectivity options for our travellers, said airport spokesperson Sam Samaddar in a news release".

Service from both Regina and Abbotsford to Puerto Vallarta will increase by one weekly flight for a total of twice weekly.

Toronto-Liberia, from four to five times weekly.

Additional flights from Edmonton to a number of domestic and worldwide destinations including Cancun, Abbotsford and Victoria.

This winter WestJet will operate an average of 700 daily flights to 93 destinations including 37 in Canada, 22 in the United States, 33 in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America and one in Europe.
