Trump continues tweet rant against AG Sessions

"So why aren't the Committees and investigators, and of course our beleaguered A.G., looking into Crooked Hillarys crimes & Russian Federation relations?"

The president said that if he had known Sessions would recuse himself from the Russian Federation investigation, he "would have picked someone else" for the attorney general job.

McCabe's wife, Jill McCabe, ran for state senate in Virginia in 2015, and lost. She got more than $450,000 through a political action committee set up by Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who is a longtime ally of the Clintons, and more than $200,000 from the Democratic Party of Virginia. "So where is the investigation A.G".

President Donald Trump is known for getting his information from cables news shows and often tweets in response to what's being discussed on television.

His tweets came a day after Sean Spicer resigned as press secretary in the wake of Trump's hiring of NY financier Anthony Scaramucci as his communications director. Earlier, Trump referred to the attorney general in a tweet as "beleaguered".

The newspaper, citing the unnamed USA officials, reported that Sessions' assertions are "at odds with Kisylak's accounts of conversations during two encounters over the course of the campaign, one in April ahead of [Donald] Trump's first major foreign policy speech and another in July on the sidelines of the Republican National Convention".

Trump was asked by reporters during a White House intern photo-op on Monday whether Sessions would resign.

The attorney general acknowledged at the time that he previously met twice with a Russian ambassador, although he said it was in his capacity as a then-senator.

"Sessions should have never recused himself, and if he was going to recuse himself, he should have told me before he took the job and I would have picked somebody else", Trump told the New York Times last week.

On Friday the Washington Post reported that Kislyak told superiors he discussed election-related issues with Sessions during the 2016 election.

Trump continues to be angry with Sessions, according to one aide and hasn't yet requested a meeting with Sessions.

Responding to the report, Trump did not defend Sessions but did appear to confirm that the Post had seen a genuine piece of intelligence. "Jeff Sessions", Trump wrote on Saturday. "These illegal leaks, like (former FBI Director James) Comey's, must stop!"

The rants on Twitter come after the president vented out his anger towards Sessions in an interview with The New York Times where he said had he known his pick for the attorney general would recuse himself from the Russian Federation investigation, he probably would have picked someone else to fill the position.

Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores cast doubt on the Post's report and said Sessions stands by his earlier statements to Congress.
