Following the announcement of Japan's release date for I Am Setsuna studio Tokyo RPG Factory's Lost Sphear, Square Enix announced that the RPG is headed Westward on January 23, 2017.

We'll bring more on Lost Sphear as Square Enix uncovers more information.

The game gives you control of Kanata, who along with his friends, sets out on adventure to save the world from a mystical force known as Lost. However, the game's protagonist Kanata has the power of Memory, which allows him to restore the Lost portions of the world. "As it is too unsafe for Kanata alone, his friends accompany him from his town of Elgarthe: Lumina, Locke and a mysterious person named Van". However, while Locke uses crossbows and tinkers with mechanical crafting, Sherra specialises in heal magic and various bow-related abilities. Contrary to the physical strengths of Kanata and his friends, Obaro specialises in unleashing powerful elemental magic, demolishing large enemy mobs.

Square also announced that pre-orders are now open.

If you pre-order the digital version of Lost Sphear from the PlayStation Store, you'll be rewarded with a dynamic theme to use now and two music tracks from the game that will be available once the game launches.

For those that don't know: past year, Tokyo RPG Factory debuted as a studio with I am Setsuna, a similar old-school JRPG that was critically well received, but by no means lit the world on fire.
