The Buffalo Sabres signed goalie Robin Lehner to a new one-year contract.

Lehner, who turned 26 on Monday, set National Hockey League career highs in games (59), starts (58), wins (23) and shutouts (two) with the Sabres last season. He was 23-26-8 with a 2.68 goals-against average and.920 save percentage.

The deal is worth $4 million, according to the Sabres.

Lehner won the Sabres plenty of games previous year they had no business winning. Despite his shootout woes, overall, Lehner had an impressive season with a very unimpressive defensive group in front of him.
