Heat causes dough to expand in truck, spill onto highway

A truck was carrying a load of dough Monday afternoon.

"You can't make this stuff up", Bova said. Calls about the leaking dough started coming in before the truck entered Tumwater.

The driver was stuck in traffic as well, which could explain the unplanned rising.

The driver eventually pulled over around South 56th Street in Tacoma.

"He said that (the dough) was filled to the level it's supposed to be", Bova said.

"I talked to the truck driver and apparently all the yeast and the combination of the heat is making the dough rise up and fall onto the freeway", Bova said in a KOMO News article.

Callers to 911 first reported a "foam-like" substance spilling from the truck in Olympia, she said.

"There's a bag now that looks like it's about to burst", she said.

It's not quite clear why the dough was being transported in a dump truck.
