Brennan Eagles is one of the top football prospects in the state of Texas, and one of the top wide receivers in the nation.

He had national offers from Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, LSU, Memphis, Michigan State, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Oregon State, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, and others.

After whiffing on most of the state's top 2017 talent, Texas has almost monopolized the 2018 market. Eagles is ranked as the No. 28 player nationally and the No. 3 player in the state of Texas according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

He also becomes the third Houston area product to commit to Texas within the last 10 days that includes Houston Lamar receiver Al'vonte Woodard and Houston Heights cornerback Jalen Green, who committed on Friday.

Eagles was originally set to reveal his decision on July 17 before he postponed his announcement. The 6-foot-3, 214-pounder was a standing at Nike's The Opening after topping 1,000 yards with 13 touchdowns on 55 catches. No matter what the reason was for the delay, Longhorn coaches have to be thrilled to secure one of their biggest wins on the recruiting trail so far.
