Cara Delevingne sets her sights on playing James Bond

Cara Delevingne has not been shy about her decision to back away from the fashion industry as she attempts to build a career as an actress.

The 24-year-old quickly rose up the fashion ranks when she began her career as a model, walking for top designers including Chanel and Burberry.

Speaking in London's Leicester Square at the European premiere of her new film "Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets" on Monday (07.24.17), Cara told The Sun newspaper: "I want to be James Bond". I didn't like what it was turning me into.Not that I was focused about how I looked all the time, but it is kind of about that'.

"That is not me at all - you speak to all my oldest best friends and they know I'm not a model".

The Suicide Squad star can next be seen in Luc Besson's Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, and the director reckons there is an Oscar in her future.

Cara's interview came at a unusual time as she looked every inch the fashion lover with her coiffed and flawless appearance at the Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets premiere in London on Monday night.

The defiant star said: 'I'm not out of it.

Having grown up acting in plays at school, Cara put her theatrical dreams on hoold to follow her older sister Poppy into modelling. I will definitely still do it. But now that she has moved firmly into the realm of acting, Delevingne gets to dictate her own style. "It's become a creative outlet, instead of me being used as a pawn".

She went on to explain that acting had always been her outlet for depression and that it is something she has wanted to do her entire life, adding that it makes her "very happy".
