ESPN 300 tight end Jeremy Ruckert committed to Ohio State on Monday.

Lindenhurst (N.Y.) High's Jeremy Ruckert announced his verbal commitment to Ohio State on Twitter after naming Michigan, Notre Dame and the Badgers as his other three finalists.

Ruckert has always been considered one of the nation's best at his position and was Ohio State's top TE target throughout the recruiting process, but he has sprung even higher in the rankings in recent months. Ohio State already led the country in average recruiting ranking, and with Ruckert's commitment, surpassed Miami for the top spot.

The tight end is Ohio State's first commit at the position for the 2018 cycle and he is the Buckeyes' 15th commitment overall.

Ruckert had 30 offers from colleges - which included Alabama, Texas, Florida, and OR, among others - but narrowed his choice to a final four of Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin.
