Everton lining up £30m move for PL winger

The Mirror say Everton are preparing a £30m move for Arsenal winger Theo Walcott.

As an attacking player, he is an okay goalscorer, and 10 goals in 28 league games last season ought to prove it, but he is nothing special and Everton would be wise to invest that £30 million elsewhere.

Frenchman Giroud has grown frustrated at Arsenal and wants to leave due to a lack of first-team football.

He managed 19 in 33 appearances in all competitions last season, but combine that with the fact that The Mirror claim that Everton are willing to splash out £30m on the England global, and surely that's more than enough to let him go.

With their new financial muscle under Farhad Moshiri, coupled with the money from Romelu Lukaku's transfer to Manchester United, Everton have been greatly active in the transfer window and are more than hopeful of pulling this deal off.

Wayne Rooney, Davy Klaassen, Henry Onyekuru, Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and Sandro Ramirez have all walked through the door at Goodison Park so far.

Everton have been the most-active Premier League club in the transfer market since the season finished in May, bringing in no fewer than six new players for an outlay of over £100 million.

It's unlikely that the French worldwide moves to Everton, but it's suggested that there could be more success in a swoop for Walcott who will want regular first-team football next season to force his way into the England squad for the World Cup.
