Disney is bringing 'Star Wars' to augmented reality

This weekend past the House of Mouse held their annual D23 Expo in Anaheim, California and the mega-studio certainly didn't pull any punches. Her endlessly charismatic breakout performance in The Force Awakens (2015) made her a mega star, and we can't wait to see where her character goes from here.

As soon as it was announced that Rian Johnson would be writing and directing The Last Jedi, I was sold on this flick.

Johnson continued: "We obviously didn't make the movie to be her final Star Wars movie".

We've seen some glimpses of the movie in a teaser trailer, but we get a pretty concentrated dose in this behind-the-scenes vid that shows off some cool fight scenes (Rey with a light saber!) and a bunch of weird new creatures (WTF is that glassy-looking fox?).

Fisher says during the footage that "it's about family, and that's what's so powerful about it". One thing that is definitely no longer a secret is but also our first real proper look at newcomer Kelly Marie Tran's Rose, a smaller character who apparently plays a pivotal role.

Along with the video featurette, we also got a trio of brand new posters focusing on Ridley's Rey, John Boyega's Finn, Fisher's General Leia, Hamill's Luke Skywalker, Adam Driver's Kylo Ren and Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron that will have fans seeing red.

Sinéad Grace, from Tourism Ireland, said that previous shots of Skellig Michael, in the last Star Wars film, did a "huge amount" for the area.

That small list breaks the tip of the iceberg, but we have some video to share with you which offers a slightly edited down look at everything that Disney presented to its hoards of fans over the two days.
