Reigning Heisman Trophy victor Lamar Jackson was tabbed the Atlantic Coast Conference preseason player of the year and Louisville was picked to finish third in the conference's Atlantic Division, the league announced Monday.

It was Clemson who won the ACC and eventually the national championship in 2016, but it is Florida State whom the media believes will be on top of the conference in 2017. Behind Miami in the Coastal were Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Duke and Virginia.

UNC did receive four first place votes to win the Coastal Division, however, which typically comes down to a wide-open race where anything can happen.

N.C. State and Wake Forest were selected to finish fourth and fifth in the Atlantic behind FSU, Clemson and Louisville.

FSU was followed in the division by 2-time reigning ACC champion Clemson and Louisville. The Louisville quarterback averaged 393.4 yards per game of total offense and had 51 touchdowns, which were both single-season records for the ACC.

Preseason accolades are being handed out across the nation and football's Lamar Jackson is tabbed as the ACC's preseason Player of the Year by the media. He is the youngest player to ever win the Heisman, and with the Cardinals, will host Clemson on September 16.

Defensive tackle Nazair Jones chose to forego his final year of eligibility, and was taken in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks.
