Fly the Oscar Mayer Wienerdrone to my barbecue, please

I am not immune to marketing, and as such, I feel comfortable admitting that I love the Oscar Mayer Wienerdrone.

Officials announced Monday, June 26th, the addition of the WienerDrone and WienerCycle - joining the Wienermobile, WienerMini and WienerRover.

It's not a bird, it's not a plane, and it definitely isn't Superman: Oscar Mayer is adding a drone to its Wienermobile fleet, one that the company says will drop hot dogs on hungry, Earthbound customers below - one wiener at a time.

The oddball drone holds the hot dog in a cardboard box, securing it with a net on its belly. The storied purveyor of hot beef-tubes is on a roll these days, upping the ante with its "WienerDrone", that's "going where other hot dogs can't". Its side vehicle even includes a hot dog warming station. "We're committed to getting our new hot dog in everyone's hands - and going to great lengths to do this".

The WienerDrone is the first unmanned hot dog-carrying aircraft designed for remote location delivery.

Although the Wienermobile is not made to actually serve hot dogs (just Wienerwhistles, the whistles shaped like the mobile), its new partners are. The WienerCycle is a three-wheeled moped that is "ideal for tricky urban deliveries", according to the release.

The company's "WienerFleet" has been comprised of three vehicles that bring hot dogs to the people-up until now.
