Michael Bay Still Coy About Transformers' Future

Unsurprisingly, the newest film, "The Last Knight" had its world premiere in China on June 13 and celebrated the franchise's 10th anniversary there.

Transformers: The Last Knight also plays like an episode of Michael Bay's favorite things.

The fifth installment of the series which sees alien robots battling other evil aliens to save the planet opens in most major world markets this week and is the second film to feature Mark Wahlberg as its star. The key to saving our future lies buried in the SECRETS of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth.

Then again, "Transformers" isn't so much a movie at this point as a global merchandise-delivery system. For now, I'm looking forward to the mythology that Bay mentioned. "He showed me some unbelievable concept art and explained how the story connects the history of Transformers all the way back to the times of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table". If this is the case, expect it to be a long while before we see Optimus Prime and Bumblebee on the big screen. Anyone? Paramount? Spielberg? Oh who are we kidding, Steven is cashing all those checks from the worldwide ticket sales from the last Transformers film.

Jablonsky's score for Transformers: The Last Knight is out on digital platforms Friday. A highlight in "The Last Knight" is a Transformer doubling as Burton's butler named Cogman who tries desperately to be dignified, though he can't help being overcome by violent outbursts. For me, you know, I'm super overprotective.

I can't say I am a huge Transformers groupie, but obviously with all the video games, animated series, movies and, lest we forget, the reason for it all - toys - there are a lot of people out there waiting breathlessly for another go-round in the cinema.

When the story proper kicks in, Autobots leader Optimus Prime is floating through space (half-frozen, in one of the film's choice shots).

There's every chance that, given Bumblebee - who'll be appearing without the horrendously bloated cast of side characters that Michael Bay's developed over the years - will actually manage to revitalize this ailing franchise.

You should look elsewhere for detailed breakdown of the plot of "The Last Knight, so much that it has one". There comes a moment in everyone's life when we are called upon to make a difference.

A Bumblebee spinoff, that's what, followed by umpteen Transformers films set within various historical epochs - Ancient Rome has purportedly been earmarked has one potential location. Indeed, your tolerance for this 149-minute beast will revolve around how many explosions you can endure.
