Matt Olson hit his first two major league home runs, Jaycob Brugman and Franklin Barreto also launched their first career shots and the Oakland Athletics routed the Chicago White Sox 10-2 on Saturday.

The Oakland Athletics called up top prospect Franklin Barreto on Saturday and activated him for the team's game against the Chicago White Sox, according to White Sox announcer Jason Benetti. He started at second base Saturday against the White Sox. His three-run double highlighted the six-run second inning and Taylor's two-run homer capped a four-run fourth inning.

Homer Bailey (0-1) allowed eight runs and six hits with three walks in 1 2/3 innings in his season debut after shoulder surgery.

CLEVELAND - Brian Dozier hit a leadoff homer off closer Cody Allen to break an eighth-inning tie and the Minnesota Twins defeated the Cleveland Indians for the second straight day, 4-2 on Saturday.

WASHINGTON - Michael Taylor homered twice among his four hits, Trea Turner went 5 for 5 and Washington romped.

"Whether he's here for a period of time, I'm not sure about that", Oakland manager Bob Melvin said. "I said some things that were borderline, I guess".

Olson added a second home run later in the game.

"He's a young kid, but we think highly enough of him to get him here to the big leagues", Melvin said. White Sox designated hitter Matt Davidson, who has seven homers in his last 11 games, registered multiple hits Friday for the sixth time in his last nine contests. "It's awesome to be able to share that moment with guys that I already built relationships with", said Olson, who played with Brugman and Barreto in the minors.

Buehrle's number was stenciled onto the dirt behind second base.

He has hit safely in six of his last eight games and is 9-for-31 (.290) with three doubles, a homer and seven RBI. Gossett, a former second-round pick, was 3-3 with a 3.41 ERA in 11 starts at Triple-A Nashville before his promotion. White Sox Renteria was satisfied with the reports after his fourth rehab start.

"As a pitcher, selfishly, I reap the benefits of it because I can go out there and pitch a little more confident", Gossett said. He felt good, pain-free, we're very happy with that.

After striking out in his first at-bat, Barreto homered in his second at-bat against White Sox starter James Shields, crushing a 400-foot shot over the wall in left-center field to give the A's a 6-0 lead in the third inning. "He's on track to come on back", Renteria said.

Athletics: RHP Sonny Gray (2-3) is scheduled to start Sunday.

Barreto's homer to center in the third came on a 2-2 pitch with one out and also drove in Bruce Maxwell as the lead ballooned to 6-0.
