Jared Tucker's sister, Tina Luke, told The Associated Press that Tucker, 42, and his wife Heidi Nunes-Tucker were celebrating their first wedding anniversary with a visit to Barcelona. The last pictures arrived a day before tragedy struck.

The wife of Jared Tucker, the American who died in Thursday's Barcelona attack has spoken out about the death of her husband. He said some of the victims shown appeared to resemble Jared.

His father is en route from Australia to Spain, Jimenez said. What are the chances?

Jared Tucker worked with his father at a family-owned pool business in the Bay Area since he was 16, Dan Tucker said. He had "a magnetic personality and people loved him", his dad said.

The elder Tucker says he wants people to remember that everyone loved his son, who had a large circle of friends from his softball league and was just a "neat guy".

A father from Legnano in northern Italy is being praised as a hero who protected his children during an attack in Barcelona.

"Once you meet him, you'd never forget him".

Arnould Partoens, president of the KFC Heur Tongeren soccer team, said Vanbockrijck was at the club "nearly every day" ferrying her 10- and 14-year-old boys back and forth to training and matches. "It's a big loss here for us".

"He left, and seconds later she was pushed over into the kiosk and she was disoriented trying to find him", Tucker's brother-in-law, Kalani Kalnui, told ABC News of the couple.

Raquel Baron Lopez said her aunt was also hospitalized after the attack.

"Sadly, I must tell you that we do believe that a number of British nationals were caught up in the attack and we're urgently looking into reports of a child believed missing who is a British dual national", she told Sky News.

And then they went to Barcelona, where on Thursday the Tuckers drank from glasses filled to the brim and joined other tourists on a crowded promenade in the Las Ramblas district, the sun shining down, as terror approached, The Washington Post reports.

Diana Gray, a neighbor of the couple in Lafayette, California told the AP they were happy, loving and had a lot of friends. "It's the first time he has even been in Europe". That's the last time she saw him.

Four Irish citizens of Filipino descent were injured, said the Foreign Affairs office in the Philippines, while the Peruvian consul in Barcelona confirmed one of its citizens was injured but not seriously so.

The rampage through one of Spain's most popular tourist areas was the latest of a string of attacks across Europe in the past 13 months in which militants have used vehicles as weapons - a crude but deadly tactic that is near-impossible to prevent and has now killed almost 130 people in France, Germany, Britain, Sweden and Spain.

Among the dead is one American citizen, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson confirmed Friday without identifying the victim.

"We express our deepest sympathies to the loved ones of this individual", Tillerson said, noting the State Department is still working to confirm whether more USA citizens were hurt or killed in the attacks.

Nunes-Tucker said that the duo were stopping for sangria at a café on the popular street of La Rambla on their way to the beach. Family members are seeking information while a wife is waiting for her husband to reach out.
