Leonid Slutsky is looking to strengthen his squad before the end of the summer transfer window, after an inconsistent start to the season has seen Hull pick up just four-points from their opening four fixtures.

Toral's spells with Brentford and Birmingham both came in the Sky Bet Championship, where he made a combined total of 70 appearances and scored 14 goals for both the Bees and the Blues.

Hull are set to be dealt a major blow in the coming days, with Sam Clucas expected to complete his move away from the KCOM Stadium, after the Tigers agreed a deal with Swansea City.

The former Spain Under-17 global spent the first half of last season on loan at Granada, but his spell was cut short and he joined Rangers on loan last January before returning to Arsenal in the summer.

The 22-year-old has bounced around on loan so far in his career, finding his best form at fellow Championship side Birmingham City after starring at Brentford. We need some players in attack and have some options. We are waiting on official information but we are very close with some transfers.

"I have serious hope for the end of the transfer window". Negotiations continue 24 hours and I hope the situation will change.

In a report by the Hull Daily Mail, Toral was said to have underwent a medical with the Tigers on Tuesday and is close to agreeing personal terms that will make him the north East side's seventh new signing of the summer.
