Even though you probably can figure out that the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge will receive Android 8.0, and ditto for the Moto Z Force, Moto Z and Moto Z Play, once you start talking about models released in 2015, you really don't know what to expect. For example, will the Motorola DROID Turbo 2 be updated? As seen in the below tweet, the update has already hit the Hong Kong U11 (at the very least).

Just the other day Google officially announced Android 8.0 Oreo and that the update would soon be pushed out to devices like the Pixel and Nexus handsets, which we guess is to be expected for Google phones, but the question is what about other non-Google phones? The HTC U11 is the 2017 flagship, so that is a given.

HTC says that it plans to update the HTC U11, HTC U Ultra, and HTC 10 to Android 8.0 Oreo. So truly, there are no surprises here. HTC has yet to mention whether or not other devices are eligible for the update, but HTC has stated that additional details and other devices will be announced later, so we can only assume that there will be more HTC handsets added to the list in the future. The latter, we hope, will include information on the timing of the Oreo updates.
