8 rescued by Coast Guard after bachelor party boat runs aground

UPDATE (12:55 p.m. August 21st.) The Coast Guard confirms one person has been detained.

Giles said boat was towed into Orange Beach and the third crew member wa detained by investigators.

Rescue crews hoisted four boaters and transported them to Mount Pleasant Regional Airport.

He also said that one of the victims is now listed in stable condition and the second victim is listed in critical condition.

The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued two men who reportedly were stabbed on board their fishing vessel off Florida's Gulf coast.

At this time, the condition of the two patients is unknown.

Coast Guard spokesman Brandon Giles says the unidentified suspect has been turned over to Coast Guard Investigative Services and charged with two counts of assault with deadly weapon on the high seas.
