Today we know a little bit better about Apple iPhone 8.

Since the Cupertino-based iPhone maker for the first time made a decision to use OLED panels for its new flagship smartphone, there has been speculation that the device may sport an edge display like Galaxy S8 offers. If you look at the top, on either side of the earpiece, there are two circular cut-outs.

As to why Apple adopted plastic OLED even though it will not make the device curved or with an edge, the source said, OLED can make the device thinner and lighter compared to liquid crystal display panels that Apple has long adopted for its former iPhone models. As per previous reports, and this live image shared by a Weibo user, the Apple iPhone 8 will feature a bezel-less design.

Kuo said only about 2 million to 4 million units of iPhones will be available in the third quarter of this year due to the shortage issue. It could either be a front facing LED flash, or a second iris scanner as seen in previous leaks.

In this latest leaks (via Slashleaks), various purported components for the iPhone 8 are on show, including the flex cables for power transfer, part of the internal components for the Lightning cable and the display assembly (with the notch, as expected).
