If you have legit glasses- and not fakes, like the ones Amazon recalled earlier this week- you shouldn't be able to see ANYTHING but the sun.

Tomorrow, the U.S. and several other countries will experience a total solar eclipse. "Adults should take special care to help protect the eyes of children during this event".

Among other local places to watch Monday's eclipse, include the Buffalo Museum of Science, which is hosting a free viewing party for the public in Martin Luther King Jr. Around 1 million people are projected to visit OR to view the total solar eclipse by Monday. Nothing. So just because they're labeled "ISO 12312-2" doesn't mean they're going to work. Watching with unprotected eyes - or even regular sunglasses - can result in serious, permanent damage to the eyes.

Those who do not take proper precautions run the risk of damaging their retinas or possibly causing blindness.

If you'd like to celebrate this rare event for longer, the Museum of Arts and Sciences on Forsyth Road is dedicating a whole day to the solar eclipse.

OR is experiencing a massive influx of people traveling to view the total eclipse, resulting in hours-long traffic backups and completely booked hotels and campsites. There may be many people standing in or along the roadway to get a glimpse. "After glancing at the Sun, turn away and remove your filter - do not remove it while looking at the Sun". The path of totality will stretch from Salem, Chaleston, S.C. The total eclipse will last from 10:16 a.m. PT to 2:48 p.m. ET. If their prediction is correct, their model of the Sun will be validated and they can then fine-tune it to make predictions of space weather, for one, which is CESSI's eventual mandate.

Every state in the USA will experience at least a partial eclipse.

· Never look at the uneclipsed or partially eclipsed sun through an unfiltered camera, telescope, binoculars or other similar devices.

Fulco has provided solar eclipse lenses for students at Ocean Studies Charter School, and Treasure Village Montessori, and Plantation Key School - where he's also substituted on and off for the last three years.

Verify that the brand of "eclipse glasses" is approved by the American Astronomical Society before use. A total eclipse happens when the moon completely covers the sun.

AAO also points out that another way to see the eclipse is through a pinhole projection, which projects an image of the sun onto another surface, like paper, a wall or pavement.
