Highlanders Flanker Liam Squire has been called to replace Kaino.

His return to New Zealand followed the publication of a story in The Daily Telegraph this morning which alleged the married All Black had a relationship with a former Australian model.

The news comes just days after NZR re-opened its investigation into All Blacks halfback Aaron Smith's airport "toilet tryst" scandal.

All Blacks Flanker Jerome Kaino has returned to New Zealand ahead of the All Blacks' test against the Wallabies tonight.

"NZR can not comment at this stage on what are both personal matters, but we feel for all of those affected", he said in a statement.

An NZR statement on Thursday said an independent lawyer would investigate the matter further, after reports Smith may have misled his All Blacks bosses over the incident.

"We certainly understand that our game and our players are under public scrutiny and these latest stories are concerning".

NZR chief executive Steve Tew said on Saturday the week had meant his organisation were under pressure.

"As an employer, we will take some time to asses this".

"While NZR does not wish to comment on individual behaviour, it is clear that this is really hurting rugby, all the people concerned, our fans and supporters".

"At a time when we are grappling with our cultural reputation, the Respect and Responsibility Review, which is now under way, is even more important.", he said.

The review would be presented to the NZR Board in August and would be made public sometime in September.
