Minority shareholder Alisher Usmanov made a plan to take over the club a year ago but it seems that he may have some competition on that front from Africa's richest man. But what may have supporters split is his first order of business when he does.

Wenger would lose his job after Dangote buys the club he supports. The Arsenal coach has won 3 Premier League titles, 7 FA Cups and 7 Community Shields in his 21 years of service.

Arsene Wenger looks set to be sacked as Arsenal manager if billionaire Aliko Dangote buys the club.

Despite making his interest in buy Arsenal known as far back as 2015, Dangote has never made any bid or any move to purchase the club.

However the 60-year old says he will put his plans into action once the construction of an $11 billion oil refinery in his Lagos, the capital of Nigeria, is done and dusted.

He said,"The first thing I would change is the coach. Personally, I want him to stay here for a long time".

Fan protests against his rule rumbled on throughout last season but the Frenchman agreed a two-year contract extension in May.

Stan Kroenke, American billionaire, is Arsenal's biggest shareholder, controlling 67 percent of the company, with Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov, owning 30 percent stake of the club.

However, Dangote clearly believes he will have the resources necessary to tempt both Kroenke and Usmanov into selling their shares once that aforementioned refinery is completed. Someone will give them an offer that will make them seriously consider walking away.

Substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud had other ideas, though, and inspired the Gunners to a breathless 4-3 victory and Wenger said: "I felt that to lose would have been awful for us because we had such good preparation and to sit there in the morning and think we had lost at home would have been bad".
