The Delhi High Court on Thursday morning was put on high alert following a bomb threat received by security officials. As soon as the police received the call, it rushed to the spot and took charge of the situation.

The team of SWAT Commando, Bomb Disposal Squad and Dog Squad is present on the spot. The caller claimed to have planted bombs inside the court complex and said there would be a blast inside the court premises within an hour.

A search operation is now underway inside the premises, NDTV reported. The squad scanned the entire court premises. A team from the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) was also sent to the court, located on Sher Shah Road in central Delhi. The telephone call was traced to a phone number registered in western Uttar Pradesh, a police officer said.

In September 2011, around 11 people were killed and over 80 injured in a blast outside one of the gates of the Delhi High Court.
