The annual Salon Privé, returning to the opulent grounds of Blenheim Palace from August 31-September 2, 2017, will see many special events, but it will be hard for anything to top the global reveal of the brand new ATS GT supercar.

This event will mark the return of what is perhaps one of Italy's rarest and most revered marques to the worldwide stage.

Italian sports vehicle manufacturer Automobili Turismo e Sport (ATS) is all set to unveil its GT supercar at the 2017 Salon Prive in Blenheim Palace, England starting from August 31, 2017.

ATS was founded in 1962 by a team of former Ferrari Formula One technicians.

ATS hasn't released any performance figures but the new GT could become a natural rival for Ferrari's 488 GTB - which would be appropriate seeing as the 1963 2500 GT and the new ATS itself was formed by jaded ex-Ferrari employees to steal sales from their former employer. Power will come from a twin-turbocharged V-8 that will be mounted behind the cabin and paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission diverting drive to the rear wheels. Hand-built using lightweight composites, the all-new ATS GT is a modern interpretation of its forebears, of which just 12 launch edition models will be made initially.

The GT isn't just created to perform like a supercar, it's been designed to look like one too.

The car's styling is credited to Emanuele Bomboi, ATS's chief designer. Now Automobili Turismo e Sport (ATS) is stepping back up to the plate in an attempt to tear the Prancing Horse sigil off the wall of the super vehicle throne room. It will be limited to 12 units and production has already been confirmed. It will make its world debut on August 31 at the 2017 Salon Privé Concours d'Elegance in the United Kingdom, alongside an original 2500 GT.
