British MP Denounces "Bad" US Iran Policy

The US president has always wanted to "kill" the nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Zarif said on his official Twitter account on Friday.

"Unfortunately now our American partners call this.(treaty) into question", Lavrov told a meeting with students broadcast live by state television. "I don't think they're living up to the spirit of the agreement", Trump said in New Jersey.

Trump once again asserted on August 10 that Iran is not "living up to the spirit" of the nuclear deal, which he described as a "horrible agreement".

"Bad faith on top of US violating the letter & spirit" of the agreement, he also wrote.

Under the 2015 nuclear accord with the US, France, Germany, Britain, Russia and China, Tehran agreed to shrink its nuclear program to satisfy the powers that it could not be put to developing atomic bombs.

"They are not in compliance with the agreement and they certainly are not in the spirit of the agreement in compliance, and I think you'll see some very strong things taking place if they don't get themselves in compliance", he went on to say. The new sanctions would defy the nuclear agreement and violate U.N. Security Council Resolution 2231.

Trump has been a virulent critic of the JCPOA signed under his predecessor Barack Obama, calling it "the worst deal ever".

He voiced Britain's enthusiasm for closer cooperation with Iran, despite the U.S. antagonistic stance evidenced by frequent rounds of new sanctions imposed on Iran over the past few months.
