Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki has advanced to the Rogers Cup final.

Wozniacki will next take on Czech world No.1 Karolina Pliskova in the quarter-finals here on Friday, reports Efe.

The sixth seed was able to comfortably get the better of Stephens, who can take great heart from reaching the semis in only her third tournament of an injury-plagued campaign.

After breezing through the first set, Wozniacki let a 3-1 lead in the second slip away as Stephens levelled at 3-3.

All of the delays came in the first set and Wozniacki seemed to gain encouragement as she bounced back from 3-0 down. Halep, the No. 2 seed, beat Caroline Garcia 6-4, 6-2 while Svitolina, the No. 5 seed, topped fourth-seeded Garbine Muguruza 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Fifth-seeded Ukrainian Elina Svitolina will play ninth-seeded American Venus Williams in the featured match, with the victor to take on either Spanish reigning Wimbledon champion and No.4 seed Garbiñe Muguruza or Australian qualifier Ashleigh Barty.

Halep and Svitolina won rain-delayed quarter-final matches early Saturday, hours before their semifinal.

Halep needed 70 minutes to advance as she didn´t drop a serve and broke Garcia three times.
