- Police are investigating after a woman was shot several times inside of her own bedroom.

A police spokesman said Saturday that the 29-year-old victim was driving to the store in the Rhawnhurst section of the city at about 3:30 p.m. Friday when he saw a friend involved in a physical altercation.

After being treated at Aria she was transferred to Jefferson Hospital where she is now in stable condition.

Then, she went back to bed and felt a burning sensation and realized she was shot.

The window she looked out looks downward so it's likely the shooter or shooters would have had to stand on something to shoot in, Fuchs said.

No surveillance cameras are in the area, which police call a quiet, residential neighborhood.

Investigators on scene said the victim works as a security guard for the county court system, adding that it's unclear if she was targeted or if the incident was random.
