Trump Not Planning To Fire Mueller

Trump said that he has not passed notes to Mueller through his lawyers but that his administration is working with the special counsel despite their belief that the probe is investigating something that never happened, reports CNN.

Federal Bureau of Investigation agents raided former Trump campaign ChairmanPaul Manafort's home, a spokesman for Manafort tells NPR's Tamara Keith.

Trump's confidants at the White House say that Priebus, who worked closely with Trump during his campaign, was never described by the president as completely loyal to him.

Trump said August 10 that there was no bad blood between him and his attorney general, saying of his relationship with Sessions, "is what it is".

Mueller, who is spearheading the probe, has made inquiries to the White House for details on specific meetings and is looking into President Donald Trump's decision to fire former FBI Director James Comey in May, the Times reported.

Mr. Priebus can potentially answer many questions Mr. Mueller has about what occurred during the campaign and in the White House. It is not clear whether Mr. Priebus ever delivered that message to Trump, the newspaper reported.

Even as special counsel Robert Mueller plays patty-cake with Comey, hires one Hillary crony after another for his team and expands his investigation into whether or not Donald Trump legally bought a pack of Skittles at a 7-Eleven when he was 12, one (so-far) lone congressman thinks maybe there should be some congressional oversight.

Trump would not be able to directly remove Mueller, who can only be fired by the attorney general. According to testimony Mr. Comey provided to Congress, Mr. Priebus knows that Mr. Comey had the one-on-one encounter with Mr. Trump on February 14, when Mr. Comey has said Mr. Trump asked him to end the Flynn investigation.

"You say, 'Oh, I'm going to dismiss him.' No, I'm not dismissing anybody".

Trump was asked about the raid on Manafort's house August 10.

Trump has denied asking Comey to drop the investigation of Flynn.

"FBI agents executed a search warrant at one of Mr. Manafort's residences".

John Dowd, Trump's attorney, underscored Trump's support for Mueller in a comment August 8.

"The search warrant here was obtained by a gross abuse of the judicial process by the special counsel's office", Mr. Dowd told The Wall Street Journal in an email.
