President Trump Standing by Fiery Comments Towards North Korea

John Conyers knows a good deal more than Donald Trump does about the Korea Peninsula-and a lot more about the Constitution.

Trump's warning came after the North Korea threatened to fire ballistic missiles over Japan towards the US Pacific island of Guam.

As a young volunteer with the Michigan National Guard, Conyers was called up to serve with the 1279th Combat Engineers in the Korean War.

Trump has spewed out anti-Korean statements and tweets even before he was elected.

Now to the latest war of words with North Korea.

Trump's talk "led to North Korea directly threatening almost 168,000 American citizens living in my home district of Guam", she added.

Conyers is right. And his position has attracted considerable support in Congress. "We absolutely support a two-state solution", she said.

It marks the Trump administration out from the previous three United States administrations, which in the different ways all failed to prevent North Korea from developing nuclear weapons and then from using those as a kind of powerful leverage tool in foreign policy - both with their regional rivals and partners and particularly in response to the US. "If he does something with Guam, it will be an event the likes of which nobody has seen before, what will happen to North Korea". President Trump must show steady leadership to prevent further escalating tensions. Trump and Macron spoke over phone and discussed the need to confront the increasingly unsafe situation regarding North Korea's destabilising and escalatory behaviour, the White House said.

One former Republican senator is calling on Congress to use the 25th Amendment to remove President Donald Trump from office. Their unorthodox message to an anxious nation and a panicky world: Don't take seriously what the president of the United States says. "Donald Trump should be relieved of the powers of the presidency at the earliest date", the open letter from the former New Hampshire lawmaker added. Congress and the American public will hold President Trump responsible if a careless or ill-advised miscalculation results in conflict that endangers our service members and regional allies.

That final line gets to the heart of the matter.

China condemned Trump's approach and warned him against "playing with fire" over North Korea. "I think the Trump administration, Trump, in particular, is looking to change those dynamics, so that policy can be shaped back toward the way in which the United States would like to have it move on that North Korean peninsula as a whole", he told RT.

"As president, Trump now has unilateral and unchecked authority to order an unprovoked use of nuclear weapons". If House Speaker Paul Ryan chooses to try and block action, the threat that his sycophantic relationship with the president should be recognized and addressed by the chamber.
