Shaw is now sidelined with an injury but has returned to first team training after working his rehabilitation separately on the pre-seaosn tour.

United have struggled to find a solid fit in the left-back area since club legend Patrice Evra departed back in 2014.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is willing to offer Luke Shaw in a swap for Tottenham fullback Danny Rose.

There were even rumours of a possible swap deal between United and Tottenham, which would allow Rose and the former Southampton star to move in opposite directions.

And Shaw's agent Barnett says his client is going nowhere, claiming he's loved by the Red Devils.

However, Shaw's representative Jonathan Barnett stressed that his client also loves United and backed the England global to be one of the best left-backs in the world. "Manchester United love him and Luke Shaw loves Manchester United", Barnett told IBTimes UK.

However, Shaw's agent has blasted the reports and says the defender will stay at Old Trafford to become one of the "best left-backs in the world". The Portuguese tactician had earlier said he was hopeful that Shaw could be back in action in September.

Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, and Matteo Darmian have all made several appearances in the position due to Shaw's absence, and have done reasonably well.
