Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores will be seeking its second Little League World Series berth since 2013 when it faces IL at 5 p.m. today in the Great Lakes Regional title game at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, Ind.

Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League played in the 2013 Little League World Series and that was the last time a team from MI played in the tournament. If they had won, they would have moved on to the World Series.

Joseph Wisniewski and Jack Jones each had two hits for Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores and Jordan Arseneau drove in two runs. The loss dropped Grosse Pointe Woods-Shore into the loser bracket of the double-elimination field, however, the team was able to rebound to win the next three and reach the Great Lakes Regional Championship on Saturday.

Will Pflaum pitched four innings in relief and struck out four for Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores.

The game will be televised live on ESPN and streamed live on WatchESPN.

The annual Little League World Series begins Thursday in Williamsport, Pa. The game can be seen on ESPN2.
