At the same time, the prospect of disintegration or chaos in North Korea evokes at least two major concerns in China.

The North Korean nuclear missile threat is built on technology provided by Russian Federation and China, to threaten and if necessary wage nuclear war by proxy against the US and its Pacific allies.

"So is Kim Jong-un acting for the Chinese military using North Korea to push the United States and others out of the South China Seas and the Pacific?", they said. Heretofore, the administration has urged China to press North Korea as a kind of subcontractor to achieve American objectives.

"At the same time, if the USA strikes first and starts war on the Korean Peninsula, China and other countries, including Russia, Japan and South Korea, will be against it".

Despite Article 5 of the NATO Charter, which requires all members to come to the aid of any attacked member, it is unlikely Germany and other NATO members would be required to take military action against North Korea as Guam falls outside of the collective defense geographic limits detailed in the charter's sixth article.

In an article in The Washington Post, two U.S. officials said that the developments signalled that North Korea had crossed "a key threshold on the path to becoming a full-fledged nuclear power".

The analysts also asked aloud how North Korea had been able to get its hands on so much military technology and the capacity to build nuclear warheads and intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Washington-based think tank C4ADS says that Pyongyang is "far from being isolated, (and) is globally active through its overseas networks", which are helping to raise the funds and materials the country needs for its weapons programmes.

LANKOV: Russia is likely to basically follow China's lead on such issues. He wasn't talking about North Korea.

Commenting on the war of words between the United States and North Korea, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the risks of a full-fledged war between the United States and North Korea are "very high". In the current situation a little spark can ignite a fire in the region. Like Beijing, Moscow is not enthusiastic about Korean unification on the South's terms, since South Korea is a close US military ally.

Tensions around the Korean Peninsula started to rise in light of the implementation of the North Korean missile program.

The US and North Korea have exchanged a series of warmongering statements over the recent week. Russian Federation has ambitious plans to build pipelines and a railroad across North Korea to the lucrative markets of South Korea.
