Anthony Martial to Tottenham

Having finished second in the Premier League last season, Tottenham have had a relatively quiet transfer window.

He may not have established himself as a first team regular under Jose Mourinho, but it would appear that Anthony Martial is still a part of the Portuguese manager's plans at Old Trafford, with Manchester United today rejecting a bid for the French forward.

Yet, despite numerous reports over the past 12 months reporting that Martial and Mourinho were not seeing eye-to-eye, the former Monaco youngster is not for sale, it appears, with Tottenham failing with a bid for the forward.

Although Mourinho has insisted on numerous occasions that he intends to keep the French global at Old Trafford, it hasn't stopped some reports this summer that he could be set to leave.

Martial has scored 25 goals and supplied 17 assists from 91 United appearances, with the club predominantly using him in a left-flank role.

With United bolstering their attacking ranks with the signature of Romelu Lukaku and being touted with wanting a new winger, it remains to be seen just how much football Martial will receive in 2017-18. If correct, it does seem a little ambitious of the club to expect United to allow a player of such huge potential to move to a Premier League rival.
