"All the party legislators, leaders, who are close to the government for personal benefit are with Nitish Kumar, but leaders and workers close to the people are with me", Yadav said in Bihar's Madhepura district on the last day of his three-day Samvad Yatra to meet people and interact with them. In a tweet on Saturday morning, Shah spoke about their meeting on Friday and that he had invited Nitish to join the BJP's coalition. "Since the Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandra Babu Naidu is now the convenor of the NDA, the Bihar chief minister could be given a designation to suit his status and political importance for the BJP after the JD (U) formally joins the grand ruling alliance", sources said.

Party sources said no decision or deliberation had taken place over whether or not the JD (U) will occupy any berths in the Union Council of Ministers.

Nitish, however, swore-in as the Bihar Chief Minister the very next day with Sushil Modi as his Deputy Chief Minister.

A delegation of party's Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha members submitted a letter to vice president Venkaiah Naidu declaring Ramchandra Prasad Singh the party's new leader in the Rajya Sabha.

BJP leader Amit Shah, on Saturday, formally invited Nitish Kumar, chief of Janata Dal (United), to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

The cracks in JD (U) have now become so big that it would be impossible to save the structure.

He refused to comment on the JD-U decision to replace him as the parliamentary party leader. The BJP is keen to rope in Nitish Kumar in an important role in the NDA.

Sharad Yadav's show of strength in Delhi on Aug 17 has RJD's support: KC Tyagi.

"Yesterday (Friday) they suspended me from the parliamentary party". We will go to the people.

In Patna, JD (U) chief of the state unit Bashistha Narain Singh said Sharad Yadav forced action on him by continuously engaging in the "anti-party activities".
