The City line-up for their 1-0 win was all-British but the eleven who will take the field on Saturday will be drawn from around the world - with even more worldwide talent having been recruited during the close-season.

To remedy that, the Catalan has overseen a £200million turnaround of City's squad, with Ederson, Kyle Walker, Danilo and Benjamin Mendy revolutionising City's ageing back line. The fact that we signed earlier helped us avoid signing players who are so expensive like now. 'Hopefully next season I'll be here and we're not going to spend how we spent again, I can assure you of that.

Gundogan signed for City past year for an estimated fee of £20m but has struggled with injuries during his time at the Etihad, making just 15 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals.

Manchester City are favourites with the bookmakers (but what do they know?) after splashing bundles of money on defensive players this summer. The game kicks off at 12:30 PM EST in Falmer Stadium, Brighton.

"So although it will be hard to get a point or three against Manchester City, it's not impossible".

"If you see in the first games [last season] against Sunderland and especially against Steaua Bucharest, between last season and now, it's completely the same".

"Everybody expected him [Guardiola] to come and work his magic but I thought that he was the manager that had the biggest job and the biggest task in front of him". I'm going to be fearless and say the game will finish 4-0.

"Like every club that's promoted to the Premier League, it's to finish 17th or higher".

I think Gylfi Sigurdsson will go so Swansea have got a few weeks to replace their most important player, while Stoke could also disappoint, so there's plenty of teams in the mix for me, but I think Huddersfield could cause a few surprises and stay up.

Guardiola: Intelligent Bernardo Silva ready to make immediate Manchester City impact

"Of course now the full-backs are younger, they have energy in their legs and we are going to use them".

Burnley - It was a decent season for it last time, but this one will be far tougher and it hasn't signed the quality to keep its status in the Premier League.

He will not be intimidated by the Premier League big guns and has already broken the club's transfer record three times in the close-season in a £35 million spree on Laurent Depoitre, Aaron Mooy and Steve Mounie.

"I would like to pay less for the club, for everybody, but the market is the market", said the City manager.

But those deals pale in comparison to City's spending and Hughton said: "Whatever City's starting team is against our starting team, there's no doubt there is going to be an incredibly massive difference". I am backing him to deliver this time around, though.

"The club was clever like that because we anticipated what we needed".

Will Antonio Conte and his Chelsea team retain their title glory for a second season, or will they concentrate on a competition they were left out of last season?

"People say in my first press conference we are favourites".
